This is our breakdown of how our player awards will be given out. First a quick congratulations to Seacoast United U16, for winning Pool G, and Northeast Elite Gold U19, for winning Pool A, at Shooting Stars' annual Thanksgiving Tournament, and bringing a couple of trophies back to NH to start off the club season.
We wanted to make our awards not only different from anyone else's but also as exclusive as possible. We do not want to do it where everyone gets an award for participating or where it favors the players who have high stats, which is why we have it set up in the way that we do.
The awards will be broken into four levels, the higher the level, the more exclusive, the better the season the players' had, think of it as a pyramid.
The first level will be our "Team of the Season" for each Division, 1, 2, 3, and the prep schools. Each team will be made up of only eleven players. One goalie, three defenders, three midfielders, and four forwards. Totaling four teams, and a total of 44 players.
From the 44 players, we will select our "New Hampshire Team of the Season," which will be the second level. The team will be made up of only eleven players, one goalie, three defenders, three midfielders, and four forwards. This team will combine all of the four teams, from the first level, selecting the players' who had the best season, no matter what school or division they play in.
The third level will be the positional players of the year, "Goalie of the Year," "Defender of the Year," Midfielder of the Year," and "Forward of the Year," which will be selected from the "New Hampshire Team of the Season."
The fourth and final level will be our "New Hampshire Player of the Year," the player whom we thought had the best season, which will be selected from one of our positional players of the year.
Long story short, each division and the prep schools, will have 11 players selected for their "Team of the Season," totaling 44 players. From those 44, eleven will be selected for the "New Hampshire Team of the Season." From those eleven, four will be selected as the positional players of the year. Finally, from those four, one player will be selected as "New Hampshire Player of the Year."
Hopefully, that is not too confusing.
