Day 38 Recap: Winnisquam ends Pelham's perfect season, as they tie, 1-1.

At Pelham's homecoming and Senior Game, Pelham came out and dominated the first five minutes, not allowing Winnisquam to cross the 50-yard line, forcing Winnisquam to use a timeout. Winnisquam came out of the timeout and played much better, as the game evened out for the remaining of the half, but neither team could score, sending it into halftime, 0-0.

With just 16 minutes to play, Emily Decormier connected with Makenzie Snow to go ahead, 1-0. Pelham called a timeout and came out of the timeout in full control for the rest of the game. With 12:55 to go a Winnisquam defender made a huge defensive to keep Pelham off the scoreboard. At the 3:30 mark, Pelham used their last timeout, as Pelham Head Coach, Lauren DiRenzo, wanted her players to stay composed, to come up with a goal. That's just what they did 60 seconds later, as Sydney Nutter, sent a cross to Abbey Bevens who put it in, for the game-tying goal, and sending it to overtime.

In OT, Pelham had complete control and didn't allow Winnisquam to take a shot or earn a corner. Pelham had two great 3 on 1 breakaways, but one, Winnisquam goalie, Riley Toupin made a save, then the other, Amy Granfield just didn't pass the ball, to a wide open Abbey Bevens, and Winnisquam defender, Cailey Clogston made the tackle. The game would end 1-1, with Pelham securing the #2 seed for the tournament.
