With the only game in the state yesterday, being played in the rain, in northern New Hampshire, Kimball Union made Brewster's two-hour bus ride home seem a lot longer.
Kimball Union held Brewster to only two corners, and one shot on goal, which they did score on, but it was not nearly enough.
The scoring started five minutes in when Hannah McGrath made it 1-0. That was the only goal of the half, as it ended 1-0. Kimball Union outshot Brewster, 5-0, and out-cornered them, 6-0.
In the second half, it took ten minutes for Lexi Barlett to score a beautiful reverse chip shot, as Maddy Gesner picked up the assist. Brewster had their first shot and only goal five minutes later, when Nora O'Keefe found Hailey Fuller, to make it 2-1. However, 60 seconds later, Kelsie Worth took away Brewster's hopes of a comeback, as she made it 3-1. With just under eight minutes to play, Lily Braun connected with Maddie Hastings, to kill the game, and make it 4-1.
Brewster may have been clinical when they got their opportunity, but it was not enough, as Kimball Union's midfield dominated all game. Kimball Union's defense, except the one goal, was on point all afternoon, they stopped almost every attack, and breakaway, keeping Brewster away from their goal. At the end of the day, Kimball Union's defense and midfield was just too strong for Brewster, as they could not break them down.
