Day 32 Recap: Broderick leads Monadnock past Bow, 2-1.

At Bow's Senior Game, they tried to get revenge against Monadnock, after losing to them earlier in the season, but Monadnock was too strong.

The first goal of the game was about 30 seconds in, when Monadnock earned a corner, as a high ball hit a Bow player above the knee, as she went down and the game had to be stopped. So we are going to keep saying it until we do not see it, the officiating was incredibly inconsistent. From our understanding, if the ball is hit into a player and is above the knee, it is considered to be high and dangerous, this was not the case with this specific call, as Monadnock was awarded a corner. However, we thought fair enough, maybe the official thought she was not trying to defend the attacker, so it is not considered dangerous. After the game resumed play, Bri Broderick assisted Caitlyn Boucher, to take an early 1-0.

Now the inconsistency... After the restart, Monadnock was able to get the ball back into Bow's half but wasn't able to score, as they were called for foul just above the 25-yard line. Bow's Dillon Hicks took the free hit; it hit a Monadnock player in the shin guard, you could see it and hear it. The ball was not above the knee, obviously, nor was it more than six inches off the ground, yet the official called it a high ball and gave it back to Monadnock. We just can't understand how the pink people are getting paid, and how inconsistent calls are, it just stuns us.

Sorry about that, but back to the game. Broderick would pick up her second assist moments later, feeding Caitlin Tissell, on a beautiful cross, to take a 2-0 lead. The game would go into halftime the same, as Monadnock would finish with five corners to Bow's zero, and they would outshoot them 10-0.

In the second half, Bow regrouped and started pressuring Monadnock. Just over halfway through the second half, Brenna Novakoski would score on a rebound, to cut the lead to one. Bow would keep possession for a good majority of the last moments of the game, but Monadnock's defense held strong, as they were able to thwart any Bow attack and get out with a 2-1 victory.
