Day 27 Recap: Scott hat tricks, as Stevens wins at Kearsarge's homecoming, 4-0.

As the game started, Kearsarge seemed like they might pull out the win, and give Stevens a fight, but as the match progressed Stevens began to wear down Kearsarge.

With 11 minutes to play, in the first half, Emily Mudge got Stevens on the scoreboard, to make it 1-0. Five minutes later Hailey LaClair assisted Elyse Scott, to double their lead. Three minutes after that, Scott would grab her second, to take it to halftime, 3-0.

Thirty seconds into the second half, Stevens earned a stroke, but Scott put it wide. Kearsarge's goalie, Marissa Pickman, may have had it covered anyway, as she made a dive for the ball, but we'll never know. Five minutes later, Scott would wrap the game's scoring and pick up the hat trick, as she made it 4-0.

Stevens dominated the game having 19 corners to Kearsarge's two, and outshooting them, 20-1. There were moments when you thought Kearsarge might counter Stevens, but Stevens' defense beat Kearsarge's offense, to every second chance ball, which allowed Stevens to maintain control of the game.

Galbraith scores with ten to play, getting Hanover past Mascoma, 2-1.

Hanover's homecoming was thought to be a relatively easy win for them, as they made it clear they are a legitimate threat to the D2 title this season. But Mascoma, whose played the top D3 teams, with the likes of Gilford, Newfound, & Winnisquam, very tough, had other ideas going into Saturday night.

Mascoma's Alyssa Hammond opened the scoring 56 seconds into the game, giving them a 1-0 lead, Elizabeth Jones picked up the assist. Five minutes later Diana Schwarz would tie it up at one. Hanover would have a good chance before halftime, with 19 minutes to play, they broke into Mascoma's circle, but the ball went off a defender's stick, hitting the crossbar, giving Mascoma the opportunity to clear the ball, and go into halftime, 1-1.

The game began to die down as the second half started. Hanover maintained a majority of the possession but wasn't able to score. Then with ten minutes left in the game, Natalie Smith found Miranda Galbraith, to take the lead and seal the game. Mascoma did have a couple more opportunities down the stretch, including one counter-attack, but Hanover's goalie Ella Edmunds, made a significant splitting save to keep Mascoma off the scoreboard. Then, with under a minute to play Mascoma earned their third corner of the game, they called everyone up to try and score, but the ball ended up going wide. Hannah Curtis took the 16-yard hit coming out, as she lifted it past the 50, putting an end to the game, and allowing Hanover to breathe finally.
