Day 26 Recap: Coyle helps Guertin get by Central in OT, 1-0.

The game was face paced, but no offense could be generated as the defenses locked everything down, for most of the night. The first corner of the match was not earned until there were 12 minutes left in the first half. Both teams combined for one shot on goal in the first half.

Guertin had the most chances, having nine corners, compared Central's two, but wasn't able to capitalize until overtime.

With 2:49 left, in OT, Katie Lupo inserted to Sarah Coyle, who lifted a shot towards goal, as Emily Flotan had the perfect reaction to deflect it into the back of the net, to take a 1-0 victory.

Gilford & Winnisquam end scoreless, 0-0.

The only difference between the Winnisquam v. Gilford game and the Hopkinton v. Gilford game were the three goals.

Gilford came out strong and dominated the possession game, but again, weren't able to score. Throughout regulation, they held Winnisquam to one corner, compared to their 15. Gilford did put one away in the second half, but it was called back. According to the official, it hit a Gilford player's foot, the same call Gilford suffered against Hopkinton, in regulation. They had another chance as well, but a Winnisquam defender was able to make a defensive save.

In overtime, Winnisquam seemed to play better, as they earned three corners to Gilford's two, but Gilford's defense did not allow Winnisquam to put a shot on goal.

Gilford had multiple chances to score in OT, with breakaways and corners, but couldn't finish. Their best chance came when Laurel Gingrich was in a one on one breakaway; she pulled the ball by Winnisquam's goalie Riley Toupin, Toupin dove for the ball, tripping Gingrich, resulting in a stroke, with about 15 seconds left to play. Kellie Ryan stepped up to take it, but couldn't repeat what she had done, two days earlier, as Toupin made the save keeping it 0-0, and ending the same.
