Day 13 Recap: Gilford "throws perfect game", against Laconia, 8-0.

Gilford couldn't have played a more perfect game if they wanted to. After two rough games against Newfound and White Mountains, Gilford seems to be back to what we expected of the defending state champs. Unless they're just an incredible turf team, and if they are, D3 better hope they get knocked out before the Final Four.

It took them until the 12-minute mark to score, as Nicole Berube connected with Kellie Ryan to go ahead 1-0. Four minutes later the duo combined again, making it 2-0. 50 seconds later Bri Salanitro found the back of the net, then three minutes after that, Laurel Normandin scored her first of the season. With 90 seconds to go in the half, Berube scored, assisted by Cloe Boucher, and 30 seconds later Laurel Gingrich would score to take it to halftime 6-0.

Summary for the first half: Gilford scored six goals in 11 minutes and 3 seconds, which is about a goal every two minutes. They out cornered Laconia, 13-0, and out shot them 19-0.

90 seconds into the second half, Jill Lachapelle found Berube, for her second goal of the game. Six minutes later the duo of Berube and Ryan connected again, completing Ryan's hat trick, and giving Berube her third assist of the afternoon. From there, a majority of Gilford's starters sat, as their large freshmen class was able to get on the field for the better part of 20 minutes.

Goalies Jenna DeLucca and Alexa Smith enjoyed an afternoon in the sun, not seeing any action, and watching their team control the game.

Overall, Gilford won 8-0, outshot their opponents, 24-0, and out cornered them, 21-0, hence "throwing a perfect game."
