As students lined Hanover's sideline Saturday night, Lebanon v. Hanover was thought to be a close and competitive match, Lebanon's defense v. Hanover's offense, and it was good, for Hanover.
Izzy Sangha scored six minutes into the game, and then she would score another with 11 minutes to go in the half, to take a halftime lead 2-0.
Four minutes into the second half, Hannah Curtis found Natalie Smith who scored Hanover's third, then with exactly 13 minutes left on the clock, Miranda Galbraith would score their fourth.
Then possibly the goal of the year, and the best goal we have seen so far. With just over a minute to play, Diana Schwarz made a 70-yard run, she beat two defenders in open play, when she got to the circle she pulled back, as there were three defenders in front of her, spun to her left to make space and take the ball a couple of yards above the stroke line, and fired it home to wrap up Hanover's goal scoring.
This was one of Lebanon's toughest loses in awhile. Hanover was too fast and too skilled, for Lebanon, and the Curtis sisters, Hannah & Macy, dominated all night long, controlling the game, showing they are a title contender, and this is their last chance to win a title together, as Hannah is in her senior year.
